Effect of Ultrasound Therapy on Adult-Onset Still\'s Disease: A Case study

Adult-Onset Still's Disease (AOSD) is a rare systemic inflammatory disease of unknown etiology and pathogenesis. AOSD presents in 5% to 10% of patients as Fever of Unknown Origin (FUO) accompanied by systemic manifestations. We reported a compelling case of a 39-year-old African male presenting one-month FUO along with skin rash, sore throat, and arthralgia. After an extensive workup, potential...

[Adult-onset Still's disease--a diagnostic challenge].

Adult-onset Still's disease is a rare systemic inflammatory illness. The condition is difficult to diagnose because the illness can resemble sepsis and other well known conditions. This case report concerns a 67 year-old woman with adult-onset Still's disease in two rare manifestations: acute respiratory distress syndrome and neurological manifestation in the form of Gullain Barré syndrome.

Benefit and a possible risk of tocilizumab therapy for adult-onset Still's disease accompanied by macrophage-activation syndrome.

We report a 57-year-old female case of intractable adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD). Initial high-dose prednisolone therapy was ineffective, and macrophage-activation syndrome (MAS) manifested after one session of additional tocilizumab therapy. After successful treatment for MAS with lipo-dexamethasone and cyclosporin, tocilizumab therapy aided in the rapid reduction of the therapeutic stero...

Macrophage Activation Syndrome Associated with Adult-Onset Still's Disease Successfully Treated with Anakinra

Macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) is a potentially fatal complication of Adult-Onset Still's disease (Still's disease). Whereas an increasing body of evidence supports interleukin-1 (IL-1) blockade as a promising treatment for Still's disease, whether it is therapeutic for MAS associated with Still's disease remains unclear. We report a 34-year-old Caucasian man with one-decade history of TN...
